Arnica
Primary Medicinal Uses
Wound healing, blood vessel dilation
Preparations
Oil or water infusions, fresh poultices, or commercial gels.
Common Uses

Used for closed-tissue injuries, such as fractures, sprains and contusions.

When applied topically, arnica acts to dilate the peripheral capillaries to increase tissue circulation and decrease inflammation. It helps speed the healing process by removing waste fluids and bringing clean fluids into the affected area.

Instructions

Apply enough infusion or gel to wet the skin of the animal, then wrap the area with gauze. Ensure the gauze is well secured so the animal cannot remove it. Apply twice daily for up to 3 days.
