Common Uses

Yucca is a very nutritious plant, with high levels of vitamins and minerals. The plant has a high quantity of saponins which allows for increased passage of nutrients through the intestinal walls.

Yucca can reduce unpleasant odour of urine and feces.

Yucca tea has been shown to have antitumour activity against melanomas in mice.

Yucca can help treat osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis.

Instructions

As a nutritive or to relieve arthritis, give 1/2 teaspoon of dried and powdered root per pound of food daily. Cats should get 1/4 teaspoon daily. A tincture can also be used at a dose of 1/8 teaspoon for each 20 pounds of an animal’s body weight, once daily. Use a low alcohol tincture.
